Norseal Finger Wizard Gap Cover – 1950mm is a surface-mounted finger-protection device designed to cover the large hazardous gap created between a door leaf and frame on the opening side of the hinged edge.
As a hinged door opens, the gap on the cavity side becomes wider. Fingers placed within this opening can become trapped or crushed when the door closes. The Finger Wizard Gap Cover bridges this changing gap and helps prevent fingers from entering the hazardous area.
This product contains the larger opening-side cover only. It does not include the smaller protector used on the opposite hinge-knuckle side.
The Gap Cover is intended for the side of the hinged edge where the widest opening appears as the door swings open.

The flexible centre section moves as the door opens and closes, while the fixing edges remain attached to the prepared mounting surfaces.
High-tack self-adhesive backing is provided to position and retain the protector on the door and frame.
Supplementary pins are also supplied for additional mechanical retention, particularly on frequently operated doors or where the substrate requires extra support.

It must be aligned so that the flexible section can move freely as the door opens and closes without becoming excessively stretched or preventing the door from operating correctly.
Inspect the complete door and confirm:
Correct any door-alignment, hinge or closing fault before installing the protector.
Open the door and identify the large gap created between the hinged edge of the door leaf and the frame.
The Gap Cover is installed across this opening-side cavity.
Do not install it on the opposite face over the smaller hinge-knuckle gap. That side requires the separate knuckle protector.
Offer the protector to the door and frame without removing the release liner.
Confirm that it:

Fit the supplied pins in the designated fixing areas, following the current product instructions.
Ensure that each pin:
Do not invent additional fixing positions where these could affect a fire-resisting or certified door construction.
Open and close the door slowly through its normal operating range.
Check that:
Stop and correct the installation if the protector interferes with the door or begins to detach.
