Norsound NOR711 Acoustic Perimeter Seal – 11 × 5mm × 2100mm is a kerf-fit and self-adhesive door-frame seal designed to reduce sound, cold smoke, draughts and uncontrolled airflow through the gaps around a closed door.

Installation Tips

  • Use the physical profile to establish the kerf dimensions.
  • Carry out a short trial cut before machining the complete frame.
  • Install the seal in the door stop for compression action.
  • Position both flexible blades towards the door-leaf face.
  • Do not completely flatten the blades.
  • Maintain a consistent profile position around all three sides.
  • Remove all timber dust before exposing the adhesive.
  • Peel the adhesive liner progressively.
  • Do not stretch the PVC profile.
  • Keep head-to-jamb joints closely fitted.
  • Do not paint or varnish the flexible blades.
  • Do not obstruct intumescent fire-door seals.
  • Check that the door continues to self-close and latch correctly.
  • Install a compatible door-bottom seal where required.

Maintenance Advice

Inspect the NOR711 regularly as part of the doorset-maintenance programme.

Check for:

  • Loose sections within the kerf
  • Adhesive lifting from the stop
  • Cuts or tears in either flexible blade
  • Permanently flattened blades
  • Paint or varnish covering the profile
  • Open head-to-jamb joints
  • Accumulated dust and debris
  • Loss of contact with the door leaf
  • Changes in the door alignment
  • Failure of the door to close or latch

Clean the profile using a soft cloth and a mild cleaning product suitable for PVC.

Avoid:

  • Strong solvents
  • Abrasive pads
  • Sharp scraping tools
  • Paint or varnish over the blades
  • Applying additional adhesive over a dirty surface

Replace damaged sections using the same specified product and colour.

Important Performance Note

Correct kerf preparation, surface cleaning, profile alignment and blade compression are essential to the performance of the NOR711.

The seal does not independently create an acoustically rated, smoke-control or fire-resisting door.

Final performance depends on:

  • The construction of the door leaf
  • The door frame and stops
  • The perimeter gaps
  • The compression and continuity of the flexible blades
  • The door-bottom and threshold seal
  • The glazing and ironmongery
  • The frame-to-wall junction
  • The quality of installation and maintenance

For certified doorsets, install the seal only in accordance with the applicable test evidence, assessment and door-manufacturer instructions.

Our standard pallet service offers delivery to the kerbside. Couriers will not be able to move pallets or goods inside the property.

For parcel deliveries, we will use a courier service.

Delivery & Returns FAQs

If you are not home when delivery is attempted, the courier will usually leave a card or contact you with the next steps.

Depending on the courier and service used, they may attempt re-delivery, leave the parcel in a safe place, or take it back to the depot.

For pallet deliveries, someone normally needs to be available to accept the goods, as these are delivered kerbside and cannot usually be left unattended.

If you need to make a change to your order, please contact us as soon as possible after placing it.

We can usually make changes before the order has been processed or dispatched, but once it has entered production, packing, or shipping, changes may no longer be possible.

Our team will let you know what can be amended and whether any additional charges apply.

If an item is currently out of stock, please contact us to check availability.

Some products can still be ordered on a lead time basis, while others may be temporarily unavailable from the supplier.

We will advise you on the expected timescale and whether a suitable alternative is available.

In some cases, parcel deliveries may be left with a neighbour if you have given delivery instructions and the courier allows it.

Pallet deliveries are less flexible, as they usually require the goods to be accepted in person at the delivery address.

If you would like delivery left with a neighbour where possible, please let us know in advance and we will note this on the order.
