Pyroplex 30054 Glazing Seal – 12 × 7mm is a flexible, self-adhesive intumescent glazing profile designed for use within approved 30-minute glazed fire-door systems.
The profile is installed between the fire-resistant glass and the glazing bead. During normal conditions, it provides a consistent bedding and sealing layer within the glazing pocket. When exposed to elevated temperatures during a fire, the intumescent material expands to help restrict the passage of flames and hot gases around the glass.

- Free from loose finishes
Step 4: Apply the Seal to the Bead
Unwind the Pyroplex 30054 profile without stretching it.
Remove the release liner progressively and press the self-adhesive surface firmly against the glazing bead.
Ensure that:
- The profile remains straight
- The seal runs continuously along the bead
- The material is not twisted
- The profile does not extend beyond the required bead position
- No contaminated or loose adhesive areas remain
Step 5: Mitre Cut the Beads
Mitre cut the glazing beads with the Pyroplex seal already attached.

Step 6: Install the First Bead Assembly
Fit one complete side of the glazing-bead system into the aperture.

- M5 × 50mm stainless-steel screws
- Fixings positioned at maximum 150mm centres
Follow the exact fixing arrangement stated by the current doorset evidence.
Step 7: Prepare the Glass
Pyroplex’s published instructions require the glass to be cut to the aperture with a tolerance of:
±2mm
Confirm that the supplied glass:
- Is the approved fire-resistant product
- Is between 5mm and 7mm thick
- Has the correct dimensions
- Has no damaged or chipped edges
- Is orientated correctly where the glass is directional
Step 8: Install the Setting Blocks
Position the approved setting blocks where required by the complete glazing system.
The blocks support the glass and maintain the required clearances.
Do not use the flexible glazing seal to support the weight of the glass.
Step 9: Position the Glass
Using appropriate glass-handling equipment, place the glass into the prepared aperture.
Check that:
- The glass rests correctly on the setting blocks
- The required edge clearances are maintained
- The glazing seal remains in position
- The glass does not cut or roll the profile
- The required glass edge cover can be achieved
Step 10: Install the Opposing Beads
Prepare and fit the opposing bead assembly using the same process.

- The bead joints remain closed
- The glass is not subjected to excessive localised pressure
Step 11: Inspect the Complete Glazing Perimeter
