Norsound NOR810S Automatic Drop Seal – 12 × 20mm is a compact, mortised door-bottom seal designed for installation into the bottom edge of acoustic timber doorsets.

Step 6: Route the Mortise
Use a router, 12mm cutter and suitable guide to machine the groove.
Remove the timber in controlled passes rather than attempting the full 20mm depth in one operation.

Deactivating the Drop Seal

- Position the actuator at the hinge side.
- Protect the TPE gasket while cutting the aluminium.
- Remove all timber dust and aluminium swarf.
- Use both supplied fixing screws.
- Fit the end cap at the non-hinge side.
- Adjust the actuator in small increments.
- Turn clockwise to reduce the drop.
- Turn anti-clockwise to increase the drop.
- Do not over-compress the gasket.
- Check that the door continues to close and latch correctly.
Maintenance Advice
Inspect and operate the NOR810S regularly as part of the door-maintenance programme.
Check for:
- Loose fixing screws
- Movement of the aluminium housing
- A loose or missing end cap
- Damage to the TPE gasket
- Damage or misalignment at the actuator
- Debris beneath the gasket
- Failure of the gasket to retract
- Loss of contact with the threshold
- Excessive gasket compression
- Changes in the door alignment
- Failure of the door to close or latch
Clean the gasket and threshold using a soft cloth and a suitable mild cleaning product.
Do not apply unapproved oil, grease or lubricant to the internal mechanism.

Correct machining, cutting, fixing and actuator adjustment are essential to the operation of the NOR810S.
The product does not independently create an acoustically rated, smoke-control or fire-resisting door.
Final performance depends on:
- The construction of the door leaf
- The door frame
- The perimeter sealing system
- The threshold surface
- The adjustment of the TPE gasket
- The ironmongery and glazing
- The surrounding wall construction
- The quality of installation and maintenance
